Upcycled Timber Cubby Houses from Little Hipster KubbiesDo you remember the magic of a great cubby house? As kids my sister and I used to create them from whatever was available including the large peppercorn tree in our backyard where we spent ours with hours with our hands deep in mud pies. Our son has a fabulous recycled cubby house that Mr Recycled built him, which looks great in the yard. The cubby houses we shared from Little Hipster Kubbies a while back, have been very popular on social media, and you can see why in this post. Their upcycled timber cubby houses are so fabulous and the imagination that goes into them, results in unique and practical cubbies, that anyone would be proud to have in the backyard. Jonathan & Jade from Little Hipster Kubby, have taken that a step further and made upcycled pallet cubbies their business.  It all started with a challenge that Jade gave Jonathan – they needed a chicken house. Jonathan wanted to make one and Jade wanted to buy one. So she agreed to him making it, but gave him the challenge to build a chicken house out of recycled timber. Upcycled Timber Cubby Houses from Little Hipster KubbiesThe business has blossomed, and over the past year the couple has travelled to Queensland twice, as well as all over NSW and Victoria, personally delivering and setting up their kubbies for families, and preschools and childcare centres. They have even built kubbies for Redbank plaza in Ipswich, which is very exciting for this small business.  And they have now started shipping all over Australia. The business began making just their signature kubby houses, but they have expanded the range to include mud kitchens in all different shapes and sizes, with bowls or recycled sinks, as well as entire main st kubbies (3 kubbies with promenade street sign & light). They have also created sailboats, sand pits and even a pirate ship! Don’t you just love them!
